We’re pleased to share that dr hab. Michał Kuniecki, prof. UJ, and Laurent Beaupoil recently took part in the 47th European Conference on Visual Perception (ECVP), held in Mainz, Germany, from Sunday, 24 August, to Thursday, 28 August 2025.
Highlights from the Event
-
Michał Kuniecki presented a poster titled “A Machine Learning Approach to Predict Valence and Arousal in Virtual Reality Using Eye-Tracking.” His work demonstrates the potential of adapting VR scenarios in real time based on users’ emotional states using eye-tracking alone—offering a non-invasive alternative to methods like EEG, EDA, or heart-rate monitoring.
-
Laurent Beaupoil presented research titled “This photo is fake!”: How individual differences and selective attention to photograph content affect its perceived authenticity. His study explored how attention to specific image content influences judgments about authenticity, shedding light on how visual focus can shape our perception of media credibility—an insight with clear implications for combating misinformation.
This year’s ECVP featured a rich mix of keynote lectures, symposia, talks, poster presentations, and workshops. We're proud that our colleagues contributed their insights into this event.
